Honoring Pastor Russ Eberly, “Hopeland’s Wily Crafty Veteran”
April 28, 2024

This week is a little different, as it's Youth Sunday, and the members of Hopeland's youth group took today to put together a special service to honor the retiring Pastor Russ Eberly. Thank you, Pastor Russ, for everything you've given the Hopeland Church family over your many years of service, and we wish you all the best in your retirement! May God continue to call you in His name, and know that you are loved by all in this church.

 Ecclesiastes 12:9-12

The Conclusion of the Matter

Not only was the Teacher wise, but he also imparted knowledge to the people. He pondered and searched out and set in order many proverbs. 10 The Teacher searched to find just the right words, and what he wrote was upright and true.

11 The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails—given by one shepherd.[a] 12 Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them.

Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body.

Numbers 8:22-26

22 After that, the Levites came to do their work at the tent of meeting under the supervision of Aaron and his sons. They did with the Levites just as the Lord commanded Moses.

23 The Lord said to Moses, 24 “This applies to the Levites: Men twenty-five years old or more shall come to take part in the work at the tent of meeting, 25 but at the age of fifty, they must retire from their regular service and work no longer. 26 They may assist their brothers in performing their duties at the tent of meeting, but they themselves must not do the work. This, then, is how you are to assign the responsibilities of the Levites.”
